After weeks (or months) of planning, coordination, and on-site work, your interior design project is almost complete. But before you move in and start enjoying your new space, there are a few important steps to wrap things up properly.

At ASCORE, we believe in clarity and confidence at every stage — especially the final one. Here’s what you can expect from us as your designer as we guide you through Practical Completion and the Defect Liability Period.

✅ Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC)

Once all major works are completed and the space is safe and functional, we will issue the Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC). This document confirms that:

• The project is substantially complete
• The space is ready for occupancy
• Only minor touch-ups or outstanding items (called “snagging”) remain

This is a key milestone — it officially marks the end of construction and the beginning of the final handover process.

🔧 What is the Defect Liability Period (DLP)?

Following the CPC, your project enters the Defect Liability Period — a post-completion warranty period (typically lasting a few months). During this time:

• You can report any defects or issues that arise after moving in
• The contractor is obligated to fix these at no extra cost
• We’ll assist in coordinating and verifying the necessary rectifications

Think of it as a “settling in” period — we stay involved to make sure everything performs as it should.

• Conduct final walkthroughs and inspections
• Identify any defects or incomplete work
• Coordinate with contractors for necessary adjustments
• Ensure everything is completed to your satisfaction

🏁 The Final Handover

Once all defects are addressed and everything is in perfect working order, we complete the final handover. You’ll receive all relevant documents, and your space is officially yours to enjoy.

📝 A Quick Note on Styling

While we handle the entire design and build coordination, please note that styling services (such as selecting accessories, artwork, or loose décor) are separate. These fall under interior decorating, and we’re happy to assist or connect you with our trusted stylists if needed.
